I was watching wings at war one night, and it was about the J-22, a swedish WWII fighter.
I really think that it should be added to this game, because there are planes from other countries on this game, except for sweden.

the next program that came one was about the b18 which is a swedish bomber, that would make a nice addition to this game.

1) Sweden didn't fight.

2) France fought, and there are no French planes as of yet.

damn, you got there first.

justfreds, sweden had no role in ww2 apart from light resistance groups operating in norway. that, and those planes wouldn't last 2 seconds in aces high, they just aren't good enough

Some of the Swedish volunteers fought for Finland in the Winter War (1939-40), flying Gloster Gladiators (as fighters) and Hawker Harts (as bombers). They even scored some kills. But that's no reason to add J-18 or B-22 to AH...

Sweden has that new fighter the Saab Jas 39 Gripen, which wouldnt work in AcesHigh, but it looks cool. Would work in a modern sim tho.

Just a thought running threw my head is SAAB out of the airplane buisness since they been making cars, or is that just something new they wanted to do?

No Polish, Romanian, Yugoslavian, or Dutch either and the Finns STILL haven't got their Brewster yet.

Would like to have an AH-64D APACHE myself as well.

They've been making cars from the 1960's (IIRC, might've been the -50's as well when they started, or even earlier?), they still make the Gripens.

I remember reading about the J- models by SAAB in the WW2 magazine. Was a very interesting article.

J22 looks similar to the 38.

didn't sweeden bat for both sides.. i seem to remember them getting very rich selling ballbearing to both axis and allies.. may be a composite plane would be good..109 body and spit wings..

The J22 resembles fw 190 in many ways and I even remember a mention of fw 190 having some influence on the desing in a discovery program many years back. To tell u the truth I find the M8 looking like mangled dornier-junkers copy as well...

Still no reason to add them in a WWII simulation when Sweden stayed as far from the war as they could.

Saab also has lots of other very succesful and intrequing types of fightercraft that have been seen very rarely in the media.

For instance it was proposed in Sweden during the 50's that if the countrys airforce would have over 1000 operational Saab J29 Tunnan's or "flying barrel" (the first fully swept wing desing in europe and the world not counting mig-15), Sweden could stay out of WW3. Total of 661 Tunnan's were manufactured.

Other famous Saab fighters include the Draken (first double delta in the world, and was also the basis of the Concorde) and the Viggen (first jet fighter with canard wing).
