Ranger, I have to say as a sound oriented person (retired musician) and slight perfectionist--you are the master!! What a great sound pack. I recently had to recover my system, so naturally had to download your sound pack again (last time was two years ago). WOW!
The music sequence at the beginning of a fight, or afterward, is a stroke of genius. Makes one think they are the star of a WWII movie.
Many, many thanks, bud. Folks like you are what keep me in this frustrating addiction. <S>

Downloaded your latest and really like it. Need help on 2 points: 1. how to turn off music, like it flying but not GV'n. Want to hear enemy. 2. How to maximize hits on my GV and Aircraft. Want to hear above all else, have at 100% but still less than standard sound. Thanks.

Ranger how do I intall the sounds in vista... can't find old sounds file....
The default installation path for Aces High II is "C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II". Vista users are encouraged to change this default location to another path outside the "Program Files" folder in Vista. This is due to the "User Access Control" service in Vista, which will have adverse effects on many aspects of Aces High II. The game auto-updater will not run, all the user folders are placed in a hidden path making it difficult to retrieve films, screenshots, squad art and so on. For example, a good path might be "C:\Games\Aces High II". This would allow you a good place to install all your games. If you chose to allow the game to be installed in its default folder, then you will have to use the "Run as administrator" option in order for the game to be able to update itself. This will not correct the other problems with folders not being placed where we intended them to be placed. Download AHII for VISTA here: http://downloads1.hitechcreations.com/AH2131.EXE

And to answer your original question...
This is the hidden location that Vista chooses to put your important AHII Files. I suggest following the steps in the previous post.
C:\Users\Your Name HERE\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files\HTC
