They werent only used in the D-day invasion, they were used in some invasions of italy.

:aok :aok

only bad thing is that they cant fire thier gun until on land. So they are still vulnerable to shelling before they get out of the water. and also extencive bullets impacting the canvas (escpecially on the corners) would cause them to sink. although due to thier weigth most of the canvas skirt was under water.

would be a welcome addition in my book.

Wasn't this the one that sunk so easily in D-Day? I saw some animations of them and their flaws and why so many of them sunk on D-day.

The reason they sunk  on d day was because they were swamped by the waves.
They were launched too early becasue the boat captain lost his bottle,so were too far from shore. Then the crews through no fault of there own followed orders and instead of going with the tidle flow and landing up the beach they kept heading for the point were they were orderd to land.

In doing so the crews headed across the waves and got swamped, the poor buggers drowned in there tanks when if they had gone with the tide they would have landed further up the beach.
The takns worked ok on the other beaches with very little losses to sinking

Haven't seen any announcements on Sherman's being added.  What's your source?
