Would be fun for sure, but be more interested in the Wespe or some other tracked artillery that could deliver rounds against airfields and towns without having to see your target.

Most of them dont have armored protection for their crews so they would be easy targets if you had to get in a postion were you have to see your target. Would perhaps be hard to model tho because the land mode we have on ships would not work well enough unless they found a way were you can zoom in the clipboard map far enough to see individual structures. IF the latter could be implemented for GVs it would be alot of fun to uses them, and they would in no way be impossible to find if you could spot their rounds flying towards you.

It's more like a few shots per day, not per hour.

But it will take weeks to prepare a firing site before that...

i'm in favor for the 105 artilerry really. I think they should be 15-25 perkies to use (with eny changing the value). I think they should be able to be towed by say an M3 or a jeep (give them another job) or air drop them from C-47's :O. How COOL would that be (i know that isn't practical, but how cool would it be???

towed artillery would IMO be too fiddly and easy to kill.

Maybe, maybe not. Towed or self-propelled arty could be used realistically in AH with a few changes to the code perhaps. The use of forward observers, either a jeep/M3-M8 or even aircraft could be utilized for distance firing. Also, the ability to spawn near troop bases, radar, and fuel factories could boost the perspective of the game. I have used LVTR's Howitzer as arty on many occasions with good success. Of course, air cover would probably be required, that goes without saying, but a properly set "mission" with the items the game already has and a few "new" arty equipment pieces could be intresting to try. I think the potential is great if we can get the developers on the same page. I also think that if we did have arty....it would become popular. Case in point with the new B25. It is growing in popularity with GV killing and not necessarily for bombing. Some called it a "hanger queen"; maybe for some models, but one in particular is wrecking havoc with GV's as it is.

Field Artillery ought to be part of AH. It fits with the rest really, as does tanks and CV, etc. There could be  a lot of uses and new strategies/tatics to be learned and it could possibly make the game more interesting....new targets and learning curve. It will help wittle down the "ho-hum" factor in time I think.

So...my "vote" is: Field Artillery (towed or self-propelled). :aok
