that is using picture hanger but its basically the same for photobucket  or wherever.

the picture just has to exist on the internet and then you link to it

.jpg is most common...AH SS's defaults are .bmp

Also try .gif

You can't rename files that way. The extensions (.bmp, .jpg, .exe or whatever) are there to tell the computer what kind of file it is. To convert a .bmp into a .jpg file, you must use a different programs like windows paint, or any other picture viewer or editing program.
Open your file with Paint, then select "save as" and select your file format of choice (i.e. ".jpg")

on my mac i just have to type those .jpg and so on and it changes it
