Military Vehicle Production
« on: April 18, 2008, 11:08:33 AM »
For your reference pleasure I have compiled the following from various pages within Wikipedia.  I make no statements as to the accuracy of the information contained here.  Where possible, I have included (in order) Vehicle name, Country, Production years, Total production and notes (sorted by country then vehicle name then 1st production year... I've also included this sorted by production numbers and by production years below).

I thought this might be useful to those who wish for vehicles.  Feel free to add to or modify this as you see fit (it's in two pages).  BTW, if anyone wants this on a spreadsheet (easier to read and sort) PM me your e-mail address.

M3 Lee/Grant   USA   1941-1942   13859   Light Tank, 37 mm gun
M3 Lee/Grant   USA   1941-1943   5258   Medium Tank. The original US version was the Lee (named after General Lee); the slightly modified British version was the Grant (named after General Grant).
M5   USA   1941-1943   8851   Light Tank, 37 mm gun

Typo:

The M3 light tank was called the Stuart after JEB Stuart. The M5, an updated variation of the M3, was also called the Stuart. Both Britain and Canada used the M3 Lee as well as the Grant, which was built to specific British requirements that resulted in the most obvious difference; the 37mm turret shape. The Brits mounted their radio gear in the turret bustle, and eliminated the cupola and its .30 cal MG. M3 Lees were still in front line service with Australian units in Burma, right up to Japan's surrender. Even with the oddball sponson mounted 75mm, they were still vastly superior to Japanese tanks and extremely useful in supporting ground troops.
