Tunisia proposed layout
« on: August 23, 2008, 09:06:48 PM »
Ok here is the proposed map layout for the N. Africa war setup.  The Axis bases off the African continent will have no planes or vehicles available.  The +1,+3,+5,+10 numbers all refer to the victory points for capturing those bases.  We will not be using the strats due to the map layout, it would be unfair to the Allies, instead the side CO will be placing hidden supply depots, that if lost will effect your downtimes in the second week.  I will be contacting the side COs soon for depot and rare plane placement. Ok now for the questions.

Victory points will be calculated for what we hold on the last day? Rather than for every time things change hands?

Which are my rare rides, and what limitations do I have for placing them down.
Supply depots. how many do I get and what restrictions do I have for placing them?
Will I have the brit carriers available?
Is there a down loadable version of this map I can look at offline? I need the deployment zones for the GV's.

Awesome  :aok  I am looking for the download for the map also.  Maybe I am just missing the name, but I see no new map listed in the download section past March of 2008.

Yea IMO that's a make or break issue with this set up. I flew some the last time AvA was set up with the land grab set up and points were awarded for the new base captures only. So it led to milk runners bum rushing the bases on their squad nights trying to get as many bases as possible just for the points, but never trying to defend them.

IMHO the only way to stop the milk running for points vs playing a strategic fight is to make them hold the base for a certain amount of time. That means they can't just run a bunch of bombers across the map stealing base after base for points, then letting them get recaptured 5 mins later because they didn't defend what they captured.

That's why I ended up not flying in AvA anymore, there were some good nights of tough fights at the start of it, but then it started turning into milk run land grabs for the capture points. Once that happened I ended up going back to the MA's.

I think a simple required hold time for a captured base would help stop the points milk running and make each team fight for the objectives & defend them. JMHO.
