I played AH before our free trial anti-virus ran out (Norton, God forbid) and had no trouble. When the free trial went out, we subscribed. We now have the entire Norton anti-virus program on our system. Now, every time I get on, within a minute of logging on, I get the "UDP lost, switching to TCP" box. Then, within another TWO minutes, I get booted, no bad frames, no glitching, just says "host connection lost."  joystick I've added AH2 to firewall exceptions and still nothing. I know Norton is very invasive but it was all we could get at the time. Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

Also running latest version of Vista, if that is a contributing factor.

Norton+Vista is a very bad combination.  Yes, it will cause all manner of problems with your connection to the game servers.

Getting rid of Norton is as difficult as getting rid of a virus.  Quite frankly, there are viruses that are more friendly to your computer than Norton is.

Any way to help the problem without removing Norton?

None that I am aware of.  In every case like this, Norton had to be removed, as the disable feature did not work.

Turning off the program for an allotted time did not work? Okay, thank you anyway Skuzzy  salute
Im just wondering why I didn't have the problem when I had the trial version. Is there any reason for this?

Please understand, I an not saying it is a 100% certainty that Norton is the problem, but historically, it has had many issues with Vista.

No, I do not have first hand knowledge of why it changes its behavior.

Skuzzy
I had vista, but I had the 64 bit with nortons 360. I had no problems running the game at all. I think it might have something to do with his firewall also. He needs to turn off the firewall in the options menu for this game. It can be done cuz that's what I did.
Don't know if that will help eagle but give it a shot.

Both firewalls?  That is a sure fire way to induce discos.  Every time you add another layer of software to check the network packets out, you increase the probablity of a disco.

okay.... checked today, both Norton and Windows firewalls were up already, somehow. Not sure how that slipped by, I will try the game tomorrow with Norton firewall only, and then if I still get booted, I'll try Windows Firewall only.

I really hate to see anyone using Norton for anything.

never use windows firewall if you have a separate program that has a firewall, same for the windows anti-virus.  both programs will start fiting each other and cause problems.
