So I installed the game on my laptop. After playing for a bit, I knew my laptop wasn't running the game well so I changed the maz texture size, but left the game res alone. Ran better. I had to get back to work so I stopped again.

Upon exiting the game, I noticed that my screen res had changed. It's sorta "zoomed in" and as a result, a little blurry. I think a lot of people know what I mean when the game either crashes or is interrupeted by another program, the game window minimizes and their screen's res is a little funky. Usually, on my PC, this isn't a problem because exiting the game puts the screen res back in its proper order. Finny thing is, that when I hit my windows key to minimize AHII while it's running, the screen res is normal. It's just exiting the game that screws up my res.

But I tried changing my laptop's res manually, I tried restarting and I tried changing the AHII settings back to default. Nothing's worked.

Any help?

IIRC the best res to run AHII at is the res your monitor/system (Native?) normally uses?

Example the monitor I have uses 1920X1080 as it's default so I run everything possible in that res................. rock

Would you mind posting in one post a detailed synopsis of the problem?  I do not know what "crappy screen res" is, nor what it has to do with the game, as you said it is outside the game.

This whole thread has me confused.

Will do Skuzz.

So after installing the game, I ran it and everything was working fine. When I minimized the screen to do some work I notcied that the screen seems to have 'zoomed in' to the point that the borders are slightly cut off/no longer in view. I.e., my wallpaper has words at the top which are now cut off. As a result of the zoomed-in state of the screen, the definition is worse; every icon seems slightly blurry. Even after quitting the game, and restarting the computer, the resolution remains in this condition.

On my PC, minimizing the game would result in the monitor 'zooming-in' the screen, but the screen would attain its normal resolution right after i quit the game.

Are you running the game at a different resolution than the desktop resolution?

Also, need a DXDIAG output.  Particularly the general system data and video card sections.

That is a very odd desktop resolution.  I assume the video is an LCD panel.  If so, it will not look right unless it is being run at the native resolution of the LCD panel.

Also, being it is an Intel video chip, make sure the "Maximum Texture Size" is 256, or less.

Yes, I do indeed have an LCD screen.

I'm currently re-installing the game and I'll adjust the texture size back if it's different. I'll report back if it doesn't work.

The game is going to default to whatever you have the Windows desktop set to.  If you are running the Windows desktop at 1024x600, then the game is going to set itself to that resolution the first time it is run.

It is a very odd resolution.  It is neither 16:9 (1024x576), 16:10 (1024x640), or 4:3(1024x768) aspect ratio.  I am pretty sure that it is not the native resolution of the LCD panel either.

Yea, but th problem is, it's the res that it's currently set to. Seeing as how I've never adjusted this res before, I'm also assuming that it's the default res. I tried the other options you listed, but they were distorting the screen terribly.

I'm currently trying to adjust the game's options to see if it affects my out-of-game display again.

Skuzzy, it turns out the game runs at 1280 x 768, or at least the game looks perfect in that res. The default however, was 1024 x 600 I believe, or at least it was like that when I last checked. Perhaps I switched the original res by accident.

I tried the 1280 x 768 res on my screen because somehow, the game kept it at the 1024 x 600. But it works now. Thanks!
