Carrier Wars-- Now playing in the AVA

take a look at the AVA. This weeek we now have the midway map up. each side has about 10 carriers to work with. go in, check it out and have fun with it.

IJN VS Blue planes. bring lots of friends, you'll need them.

the red dots you see are not last nights hangover, but rather a cloud of Zekes coming to tear things up!!

its fun for everyone!

well for those of you who missed it, it was a blast. 30 players in there tonight. for those of you who didnt make it, ill leave the no icons up unless there are some serious complaints. have fun and if you've never flown the AVA, try it out!  :)

Wasn't there very long but was fun. No icons is definitly a diffrent game and a blast. When u doing it again.

unless i get too many complaints, ill leave it up for the week. i will try some other things over the course of the week, but for now, its gonna stay the way it is. So go in again tonight, enjoy it and bring a friend!  :banana:

I stopped in last night for the first time in a long time.  It was a blast!
 At first, I was confused because even though there was a fairly large red DAR bar in the area, I couldn't see any enemy a/c.  Then I started noticing dots,then a/c w/o icons.  I kept toggling my icon display thinking that I had it set to off, then saw somebody mention no icons on the radio. 
After that, it was great fun!  Definitely added to the immersion and fun of the short time I was there.  Hope to be back again this week sometime.

OK this was awesome! A couple things i learned from no icons.

1. you can fly into the middle of their formation and kill 2 or 3 before they know whats going on.  :rock
2. they can fly into the middle your formation and kill you and 2 of your friends before you know whats going on.  :cry

If this is the new way of the AVA i'll be in on a weekly if not daily basis.  :salute

Great fights and no icons definitely adds to the immersion factor.  Had to concentrate much more to find and track enemy targets and would often lose them aginst the sea (blue planes really do blend in!).  Also found myself getting much closer in before opening fire.  Great fun!

Most fun I've had outside of an FSO frame in ages.

Its not easy, and it may not be for everyone.
But it was a hoot last night.
I suck at it, died more often than I killed, but I still had a blast.

Also suprised at how few complaints I heard.
Lots of respect, Salutes, and some good natured banter.
Very little whining, complaining, or trying to tell someone else how to fly.

I'll be a regular as long as this or a similar setup is around.
