Is anyone using touch-buddy with AH? Will it work with Vista64? I found videos for FSX and LOMAC and F4AF and IL2 but not AH. Is it just a failure with AH? I just found it so I havent read anything yet just thought I might get a quick answer here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKv8KR8bX7w&feature=player_embeddedhttp://www.touch-buddy.com/forums/

There is a computer disease that anybody who works with computers knows about. It's a very serious disease and it interferes completely with the work. The trouble with computers is that you 'play' with them!

Never heard of it. What is it?
P.S. They really should rethink the name of whatever it is.

Touch screen (which I know you dont care too much about) as a form of control. I saw a few of the AH player base in the forums there but they may be using it for another game. I can look a little more at it later.

I just can hear it over the radio now,..
Pee-a-lot1: "Hey dude! I wanna touch buddy!" Pilot2: "Uh,...uh....Listen you pervert, get off my channel!" Pee-a-lot1: "But dude playing with a touch buddy is so cool!" Pilot2: "Listen kid, you want to play touch with your buddy, it is your business, just keep it off the radio!" Pee-a-lot3: "REPORT HIM!"
It's just wrong on sooo many levels.

For a moment I thought Skuzzy had added a new "Personal Ads" sub forum when I read the subject line...

Will be interesting to watch this touch-screen hardware develop. Doesn't seem too useful at the moment, yet that can quickly change.

See what I had been told was that the best 'touch OS' in the MS realm is W7 and Im not using that. Im not sure exactly what I would use it for in AH since I have a good enough HOTAS method now. For something like FSX or F4AF I would like to setup the screen with a background image of actual panels and use the touch approach on that (graphics being faster to interpret than written words maybe). A 19" touch screen is about $1000 and Im thinking I would want a few 7" screens at least...
Might let this one go for a while especially since no one has experience with it.

Yeah it looks cool but I agree with a HOTAS it just doesn't make sense to have that setup.

It's old technology. I work in the chemical industry and we went to touch screen about 12 years ago and our systems were honeywell makeovers (they put the honeywell logo on regular computer systems and sell em for twice the price). We were using 21 inch monitors with an overlay attachment over the monitor screen like a shroud and you could activate individual systems via touch. We ditched the stuff about 8 years ago when LCD screens came out and I don't think we have any of the old "touch screen" systems active throughout the entire plant. We were using winblows NT at the time. Our newer systems are actually Dell computers with the Honeywell logo replacing Dell's. What a ripoff! All the Best... Jay

Hahahah yeah it's no different than the alignment computers for the automotive industry. It's usually dell or hp systems with HUNTER logo stickers on them. Granted it also comes with cameras and wheel sensors, but $25,000 seems a bit high...
