Manual or Auto calibration in MA
« on: January 15, 2011, 02:46:33 PM »
I was wondering if it would be possible to make Manual Bomber Calibration a selectable option in the Main Arenas.. As it stands, I think, the arena calibration mode can only be changed in the arena set up.. Could this be changed to a selectable option under preferences?  I've come to prefer the manual method used in special events..

"Manual Calibration" Is simply a different method of calibrating the bomb sight.. It involves a couple more steps than the "Auto Calibration" method currently used in the Main arenas.. Some would say it's a bit more difficult than "Auto Calibration". The only time it is really used anymore is for certain special events and scenarios (It is my understanding that this was the original calibration method used in the game).. I know there is a more detailed thread on it somewhere, I'll try to dig it up at some point and post a link here..

Currently it is only enabled in the arena settings.. I'm asking HTC if they could make it an option from our personal settings in all arenas..

I'll try to post a link about it tomorrow.  :salute

Skuzzy,

Would this be very difficult to do? Do you guys have a reason for not wishing to do it?  :joystick:

Stop by the AvA, it is set for manual calibration.     Totally tough to explain and a royal pain in the arse, but it can be fun every now and again.  Several steps are needed for an accurate calibration.

I believe the reason that manual calibration was dropped in MA was to level the playing field. The accuracy and functionality of a player's controller affected the calibration.

I see.. Would be nice if it was added as an option for those who want an extra challenge..  :pray

they should enable wind in the MA then, something to blow the bombs slightly off course, would make up for the push button bomb site we have now.
