I think I would have gone with the 17-930, the EVGA X58 FTW3 132-GT-E768-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58, and the RipJaw 12GB triple channel RAM for just a few bucks more.  But, that's just me.

Some of the components I already had such as the processor, which I'm happy with the 3 main items were the memory. Mother board and case. I hope to have pics to post of prior during and post build to post here. Hopeall goes well and we will see what it can do.

I alrady got the mb and memory and wholly guacamole on the mb, I had the p45 and right now I have the evga p55 mini atx which isn't to my likning. And my 900 case doent have the bottom duct for the PSU and that is one of the selling points of the new case.

Till then LawnDart :bolt:

I had one of these boards and had issues with it primarily for reasons that shouldnt effect you. The memory options are limited to some small degree (16GB) and there is no SATA3 option which can be gotten around. It can do tri-SLI which it turns out you will probably never need. With three 480s in SLI and 16GB of memory I found the MB laggy and with Quadro 6000s in SLI the board was really choked.

I agree with going with the evga x58 but I had to go with tehe MB that matched my processor, and going buy what I had this was the best match. I will keep you gentlemen updated, still waiting onmy case to do transfer of needed items.

Oh the funny thing about the whole build was I got every thing tied up .... closed up and the first time I booted up ...NOTHING,,NADDA zilch... I did a bios check and looked to see what i did wrong on the bios .. Well come to find out in my haste to close it up I forgot to connect the power to the hard drives. :bhead but it is working right now and it runs extremely quiet.

Usually its not leaks but replacement of the liquid that gets tiresome. The stuff doesnt leak so much as thicken and kind of like artery buildup this sludge starts to form inside everything. The only place I found water to be an advantage is on HDs and memory primarily because it takes too many fans and too much noise to get air pushing through the tight spaces around HDs and memory. If you take pride in doing things with your hands and love to take things apart and put them back together again... why not?
