A long belated <S> to FedEx R.I.P.
« on: April 16, 2012, 11:19:38 PM »
I just recently realized that news of FedEx aka ROOTBEER aka Smack's passing had not been noted outside of his website. (that I could find using the search button).  So I thought I'd pass it along here for those who knew him.

My Husband Carlos aka FedEx aka Webmaster has passed away!

To the airwarrioronline community, it is with a heavy heart to announce that my husband Carlos aka FedEx passed away on March 12, 2010 of a brain aneurism.
He leaves behind  a loving wife and  a beautiful 6 year old daughter. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

I will continue to run this website. I will post more shortly as it is too upsetting at this time. Thank you all again.

Condolences for those who knew him can still be passed along at the above link.

I credit FedEx with getting me hooked on "flying the unfriendly skies" in Air Warrior.  He recruited me into his squad in 96 before I ever took my first virtual flight because my buddy was in his squad.  He was a good friend, and I learned a lot about .html .php and general technical knowledge, and of course flying from him over the years.

Sad news to hear, I wish I hadn't lost touch with him over the years.  <S> FedEx.

This is some really bad news!  I wondered what happened to him all these years.  May he fly in peace!  :salute FEDEx

I guess I should add that he flew 2001-2002 in AH until he moved cross country.  After that, he periodically flew for a month at a time in AH over the years, and under different ID's.  I had him in -=38 Specials=-, and I believe he even had a short stint with the 479th.  His wife also flew with him on occasion in AH and AW, she was flygirl (circa 2001) here and IIRC chili in AW usually as a gunner or observer.  I remember back in the day when the SYSTEM channel would announce every kill, I would give her a WTG for a kill, and she would say "thanks but" she didn't do anything...She was .join'd with FedEx in a fighter and got a proxie  :lol

He did make a contribution to AH.  He owned the top google result for "Air Warrior".  He and I would point old AW pilots here when looking for fellow old AWers for a number of years.  And links referred from airwarrioronline.com are probably responsible for Any old Air Warriors out there????? being the most resurrected and 2nd most viewed thread in General Discussion.  Which I would guess translates into a number of old AWers giving AH a try.
