It has been many moons since I was wife ack and the hubby was playing air warrior in AOL for $1.99 an hour on a 486 and once a month the typical "how many hours at how much???" discussion came up when the credit card statement came in. Amazing how many years that went on! Somehow the if you can't fight em' join em' phrase hit my house and SheGotYa was born. I remember not too long after getting two new computers for this game, his & hers. Not too long after that the first Aces Gathering at my house started in 2006 with about 20 players and by the fifth year had over 100 players and their families thanks to Betty, SHawk and all who attended and contributed over the years we had a blast! Somewhere in between I started racing in AHXARL because Bearcats and Gat76 asked me to and I couldn't say no any longer. After racing season's 10 last race I came back for 11 with badger8 and stayed until Heavy Metal Sunday was born. Those Campaign Managers of AHXARL were and still are awesome! Soon after I joined the Campaign Manager Team with my own GV event Blitzkrieg thanks to 4440 Heavy Metal Sunday was created. Back in the day with one arena and many GVers I had a blast! You guys made those nights worth all the work. It has been a pleasure to be part of this players community and to have met so many of you. Some of which I cannot imagine my life without on a daily basis. Some VOX moments over the last 8+ years have been real memory makers! Soooo many friends I have made along the way.
My little guy will be 4 in February and the move from Chicago to Seattle makes for less time to log on. When I find time it is way too late to see my Midwest and East Coast buds. For those reasons alone it is time to say goodbye. I have tried to make it work by staying in FSO with the squad and getting in the MA as often as I can but, it has felt like work and when fun feels like work well you know. Being a Campaign Manager had it's glory days but, with less then 90 days left true colors were exposed so the icing on the cake was when that became a place I didn't want to be any longer and the drive it took to log on to any arena left completely because of it.
It is impossible to remember everyone and each moment but, here are a few of my memory makers ... would love to hear yours!
Thanks 999000 & tatertot for the fan club and letting me practice my aim on those buffs so many years ago! One of the finest memories was meeting the two of you ... what girl can resist a guy that drops to his knees for her.
Just to mention a few ... dr7, wonder, wet, real, Rondar (Ronnie), GMC "R.I.P.", JTDragon, Monti and many more for making me the GVer I became!
Was fun to give up hundreds of tanks and take out the ones running to land my kills! I used to LOVE clearing a spawn and not just a camped spawn but, a camped spawn with good GVers Muahahaahahahaha!!
TeeArr and I finding a place to fight ... can't remember if it was the N1K or Spit we were in?
RacrX ... my virtual boyfriend. Love you, man!
I cannot remember for the life of me who was the Bish buff I escorted over our Knit field to level the Rook base when the 68's up'd a mission at that base and I had to explain what I was doing. LOL we ended up taking the base! Fun night.
SOARING EXECUTIONERS was an awesome squad to be a part of. Femme Fatale was when I went solo to change countries and I ended up with JG2 when my country jumping days ended and then became JG2's CO both in the MA and in FSO. After meeting CHAPPY in Chicago I started to fly FSO with JG2 and eventually took that CO position. What fun! CiC duty was interesting when I had it to say the least with Operation Nut Buster, Operation Turn Your Head And Cough and Operation Family Jewels ... you get the theme.
JG2 is no more as of last night I have disbanded JG2 in the MA. FSO CO Dougall has been in place since I became CM XO and then CM CO. Dougall will continue to be CO of JG2 and I am happy about that! Seems we only got to see the squad on FSO nights as of late. Thanks Dougall and badger8 for all the help in FSO and to keep it going! Tull played a big part in helping me with FSO orders in my early days and it was much appreciated. Sled also glanced over my orders and helped me catch a few boo boo's ... even the time I sent my orders before asking and then realized he was not on Axis that month! LOL Oopsy. Fun stuff.
Genrl and Hitcher ... LOL what can I say about these guys? Some of the dirtiest minded guys in the game I ever met! Mad respect for staying that way even after you met the hubby on VOX! Talk about having a set! You guys crack me up! Genrl is one I talk to often outside the game but, I have not seen Hitchie in a loooong time. Hope he is well.
Squads like the 31st., Ground Pounders, LTARs and whatever SHawks squad name of the week was made country jumping a blast!
So many ID's so many memories as I said hard to single them out. So many from the early days are gone.
Last but, not least Fugi! What a great contribution to this community you have with those cartoons! I will treasure the one you made for me always... Thanks! I had it as my wallpaper since the day it was posted. Now that I have canceled my account it is framed and on the wall.
Thanks for making the one for my Seattle Get Together it was a hit!
