DOWNTIME COMMAND

MAYBE DO YOU THINK YOU COULD MAKE THE DOWNTIME DOT COMMAND A LITTLE HARDER OR MORE COMPLICATED?

Why?  It's hard enough as it is.  Or are you just being sarcastic?

By the way, please don't post in all caps.  It looks like you are shouting.

its really quite simple if you take 3 minutes to make yourself a little cheat sheet.

(or write the object types on a post it note)

what an ordeal it was!

-1 Is complicated enough .

Heres something I made to get around it:

Hmm, still not too sure what each gun type is for, but meh, I hardly look those up. :devil

You can look up the codes in game by going to Clip board Options, Arena Setup, Objects, Destroy Objects.  Obviously you can't "Destroy" the objects online, but it gives you a list of all of them with their corresponding three letter code.  Then you just type .dt fxxxYYY where xxx is the field number (add a 0 if it is single digit, ie f01VHH) and YYY is the three letter object code.

alot of us old timers to the game don't appreciate this system. Why don't make recon versions of planes to supplement this functionality? Sounds like a good way for newbies to get bomber perks.

What if it were the kind of thing where you'd have to fly a fast, lightly armed or unarmed plane over each base to "take pictures", and if you survived each each overflight for two or three minutes, the photos would "develop" and be available to your country for some x number of minutes?

Am I overthinking this?

I agree. The .DT code really imho should be available for use only on friendly targets.

However they did change the supply system to where you can resupply and repair your towns. I assume this was added to prevent (well at least reduce) the never ending whines about how XYZ didnt go down or didnt stay down or 50 other reasons why it didnt happen the way someone wanted it to.... :bhead :bhead

I'd like to see a .DT command that allowed me to just enter the base ID and see everything that was down, i.e. ".dt fxx"  :D

I'm game!  It was introduced while I wasn't playing, and I still am not flying that much so I still haven't learned it.  Always used a timer on my phone or the clock on my joystick for that when I was attacking something.

Heres something I made to get around it:

I copied the chart from this page:
http://www.hitechcreations.com/Help-Section/Flight-Sim-Information/Aces-High-Help-Gameplay.html

Then I wrote the command at the bottom of the sheet.  Now I can just look at this sheet.  I keep the chart with my maps.
