Why I like Solaris.

To day we will be rebooting one of our game servers. It has not be turned off or reboot for 5.2 years.

my old linux machine stayed up for a little over a year once.. not 5 tho!  :aok  :cheers:

Anyone else reminded of Jurassic Park? Rebooting a server and everything is ment to come back on. Instead all hell breaks loose...

Had a UPS die on me late last year. The Windows server gets rebooted and cleaned up weekly because it apparently hasnt learned to wipe its own arse yet, otoh the Suse box had been up since we moved office just over 5yrs ago.

Always get worried when the customers I support reboot a Solaris, iSeries or AIX/UNIX server that has been up for along time...
