Normandy!

First, if you find any problems with this new terrain, please post in this thread or send a PM to Easyscor. - Thanks!

Following the D-Day invasion, the Allies were desperate to expand their foothold in Normandy. Every day, they fought to expand that foothold and by August they reached the Seine and Paris.

This week's setup starts one day after the D-Day landings. The majority of the Allied airforces are busy preventing the movement and regrouping of Axis reinforcements into Normandy. Or to put it another way, for balance and gameplay, the planesets and vehicles are limited.

Should the Axis throw the Allies out of Normandy, the Allies are able to storm ashore again from bases along the southern shore of England. Instructions are in the towers at the vBases.

Bases in eastern England and Northern France, etc., are out of play in this setup and the planeset is subject to minor changes for balance.

NOTES:
Deliberately missing: P-51d, Spits
At this time, spawn points are also deliberately missing. Hence no Shermans or Panzers. This terrain will undergo several revisions over the summer in preparation for a series of Saturday morning setups starting September 7th, 2013. Potential Command staffs are encouraged to contact a member of the AvA Staff.

Severe compromise to best practices was required to bring this terrain to the server and I hope that enough people have the hardware to play on it to justify the effort. Those with limited hardware should avoid Paris, London, La Havre, Caen, Cherbourg and Lisieux in that order. Otherwise, I think you'll be okay over the rest of the terrain.

----------------------------------
Graphic Settings for best results:
----------------------------------

Detailed Terrain - ON (isn't required, but best display)
Bump Map Terrain - OFF (isn't required, but best display)

Everything else is optional.

The bluffs of Normandy will look best if you disable the terrain bump mapping.
Easy in-game again.

Looks interesting.  If I get time and there are others in the AvA when I have time I'll try it out.  Are both Mosquitoes enabled or just the Mk VI?  It doesn't really matter to me as the only one I'd use is the Mk VI, I am just curious.

Both Mosquitoes. Thanks for the catch.

There were 3 of us in there this morning. 2am to 4am my time and I'm trashed. Going back to bed for a couple more hours lol

Last night's fun demonstrated the wisdom of leaving out the Spits.  Very balanced event, great fights.  Thanks for this one!
