Please fix the drone leash in the vertical
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:02:40 PM »
There seems to be a great variance of what maneuvering is allowed in bomber formations.  Hard horizontal moves have a much shorter drone leash than vertical moves.  The typical Barnum And Bailey style buff pilot can do steep dives, climbs and loops without the loss of a drone.  I have no problem with the bomber pilot maneuvering but object to there not being a penalty for it.

Just had a Tu-2 pull a steep climb and hang on his prop at 90mph and tumbled back down.  There was a huge vertical separation between the lead and the drone but no "boom".

The event occurs at about 1:25 in the film.

That is pretty ridiculous.

I wonder how drones react to bits of lag and whether small dropouts help in that situation?

This one is even crazier.  Looping three times before they die and of course, warping all over the place in the interim.
