Extra knobs and buttons

What can you do with an abandoned joystick? Every once in a while someone asks about how many controllers can AH use. The answer is, more than the amount of USB ports in your powered hub. My story starts with a joystick change, and another soon after that. I had already got to like the throttle of the first one, so I used both. The stick part of the older one was sitting behind my monitor - and was a nuisance to make it fit into my luggage for our regular meetings twice a year!

So, my current controller set includes a Thrustmaster TopGun Afterburner 2 (currently available as T-Flight Hotas X for about $50) and a TM T-16000M, the latter being used as the main stick. Here's a collage of what I did. Note that this can be done to even worn-out sticks as long as the circuit board works! Buttons and pots can be replaced as well as the USB cable. Dedicated switches have been ordered and they're on the way for the next evolution version. Please click to enlarge the image.

Very creative.
I turned the stick of a 3d-pro into a set of crude, but functional rudder pedals.   :joystick:
