Battle of Stalingrad
Its winter 1942/43 and Nazi Germany are
at the height of their power. Already
controlling most of Europe Hitler turns
his eyes on the Soviet Union. After
operation Barbarossa it looks like
nothing can stop his Third Reich as
they push their way into the heart of
Soviet territory. In the south a city
on the Volga stands between them and
the oil fields of the Caucasus.
Because the city bears the name of
the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin it
becomes an important propaganda war,
and one of the biggest and bloodest
battles in modern history.
Will Hitlers third Reich defeat Stalin's
Red Army or will they will the Soviet
troops push the fascist invaders out of
their motherland? Only time will tell.
