A rant open to discussion...
« on: April 30, 2002, 05:55:19 PM »
Here it goes...

In my short time flying this incredibly designed and extremely fun game I have come to a few realizations. There are only 5 real squads in Aces High. They are as follows:

Squad 1 "The HO N1K and LA7 Bastages"
Their squad mission statement reads: Do whatever you can to get as many kills as possible with no regard to strategy or the benefit of helping your country win the war.
These people have NO respect for the game and the war it is supposed to be honoring.
All manner of disease and tragedy I wish upon you and your families.

Squad 2 "Spit and A6M Dweebs"
Their squad mission statement reads: Be as annoying as gnats and turn, turn, turn.
Images of the aliens fighters in independence day float through my mind. The overmodeling of these planes is astounding. The military would love to get their hands on planes that could perform like this, there would be no stopping the air superiority.

Squad 3 "The Strato-Con Alt Monkeys... AKA. the Space Shuttles"
Their squad mission statement reads: Get as high as possible then fly for hours to get 1 or 2 kills.
If there were cars that got the mpg. of a Pony in Aces High there would be no giant oil companies. I'm amazed we needed more than 50 gal. of petrol for the whole war. that would have kept the Ponys and F4U's up for 10 years it seems.

Squad 4 "Bomber Group (insert name here)"
Their squad mission statement reads: Flatten anything you see.
I actually have respect for the patience it takes to fly so long. The only problem I see is did we ever have a B17 shot down in the war? If so, how?
The guns can sink a carrier at 5000 yds. Enough said here.

Squad 5 "The Real Pilots"
Their squad mission statement reads: Do your best to help your country and fellow man.
These pilots fly with each other and actually try to win the war. They give respect where it is due and try to honor the pilots who actually flew in WW2. They don't believe there is such a thing as stealing a kill or shooting at a chute. There is true strategy involved with what they do. Salute to any and all who fit into this category.

That is my rant for the evening. Sorry to be a pain in the bellybutton but it was really bothering me. If you think I'm full of s*** so be it, but this still needed to be said.

If you feel the need to call me a whiner... go ahead but don't just dismiss what I've said because you might fall into squads 1-4.
I don't know what to put here yet.

You forgot squad #6 The obnoxious BBS posters, aka the channel 1 tards.

This squad is made up of newbies and dweebs, occationally a complete tard will join their ranks too. These are the "pilots" who know exactly how each and every aircraft in AH should perform, because they saw it in a movie once. Some of the more prominent ones claims to have seen a documentary on Discovery channel too, although that has never been proven. They know everything about every flightmodel, they know everything about every aircraft.

Often they are ace pilots even before they start playing AH. Some have great experience from other flight sims. There they learned (the hard way, one might add) against the AI that the best ACM to get on the bandit's six is the hard turn. And if it works there...it must work here too.

To their great surprise though, they are completely unable to survive for five minutes in the MA. And they figure that this sad fact is somehow related to flaws in AH, or lack of skill in the other pilots.

These are the guys who can be seen sometimes augering on takeoff ten times in a row from a field, and then up a flakpanzer. Should one of these morons get off the ground, he will most probably stall and auger on his first turn (see "hard turn" above). And should they ever get anywhere near a bandit, they are completely helpless. Its not that they wont try though. Flying after the well thought out "point your aircraft towards your target at all times"-tactic, often they will start spraying at D3.0 in their desperate attempt to hit something.

As soon as their skilless dweeb a** has been shot down yet another time they flock to the BBS to post long tirades about how useless aircraft X is in AH, because IN REAL LIFE the aircraft was soo much better. Sometimes they can even cite a movie quote to prove it too.

Some of the more prominent tards dont even bother to run to the BBS to post their theories. Instead they give long lectures on ch1 on how skilless the pilot who just shot down them are, how they were afk, how they were cowardly HOed, how the other plane was hacked, what BS it is that they were shot down from D1.3 etc etc. The more talented tards never seem to run out of reasons why they were shot down either.

Constantly striving to achieve true dweebness, they will do anything to reach their goal. They are so attention starved that they know no limits. They will kamikaze CV's, they will man Shore battery's and realize that they dont know how to fire the guns, these are the guys that can be seen augering beside aircrafts taking off from a vulched field.

Everyone can be a dweeb, it just takes alot of dedication, but for some it comes naturally.

"Spit and A6M Dweebs"

Spit i can agree with but A6M is NOT flown AS MUCH as the spit.. at least i dont see it,, mabye at a base with 20 people 10 are in spits 3 in zeke (around that) and the rest in P51 or LA7/niki
A6M is the only (other then hurri) that can turn with spit and STAY with it... that is why I my self (and some squadies) fly the zeke, to kill the SPIT dweebs.
peace

I think you're full of toejam.

SOB

BTW...I think someone needs to apply the "Myelo Scale" to this one, but I'm pretty sure it will fall short due to the "it's ok if you don't agree with me" ending.

Hortlund obviously you missed my major point...
How many times have you winged a squadmate for 30 min. working together to stop the enemy only to have 15 poor pilots come rushing in and take the 2 of you out by sheer numbers, not great flying skills?
Notice that squads 1-4 don't work together... they are just here to rack up points like some video game in an arcade, racing to get their initials to the top. If that's your idea of AH you need to rethink the reason you are here.
I don't know what to put here yet.

So if I fly a Spitfire I can't be a "real pilot" or "honor the pilots who actually flew in WW2."  Gee thanks for telling me.  I'm sure the WW2 Spitfire pilots I have met and thanked for their duty would find your statements amusing.  I'll pass on your advice to the Mierzejewski brothers.  I'm sure they'll think twice about flying their dad's Spitfire in AH.

Sounds to me like they had better teamwork than you.  I thought maybe your post was a joke but now I suspect you're just another in a long line of losers trying to blame your shortcomings on the rest of us and make fun of anybody who doesn't play the game your way.  Yawn.

My score on this one?

As a troll... I give it a 2.5

Really lousy presentation of the bait. :(

As a whine… 2.9

Well face it I've heard a lot better. I am sure this guy will spend more time on the BBS improving his whining skills than in the MA improving his ACM skills.

To improve your whining skills try reading some posts by JoeCrip, really first rate stuff.  Here is a url to an example of a first rate whine. The touch of a real master! I haven't had so many good laughs since the Clintons left Washington! :D  http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51455

For humor?  1.5

It didn't even make me break a smile.  You have to be more adamant in your defense that this really is not a whine.  And try to be more sanctimonious! That always makes us laugh! :D

Originality? 1.0

We've heard all this a 1000 times before, yawn! :(

Overall score?  1.75 out of 10.

Since there ain't no zeros, I gave you a 1.75 for trying.

Keep working on your posts instead of your ACM, we need more targets in the MA!

My god, is this guy trolling, or is he really that mind-bogglingly idiotic?
