Dear Santa HT: Aircraft Marker Toggle?

Another addition to the wish list:  ( if there is a more appropriate place to post this, please advise )

Make it possible to disable your own plane marker when you are flying under radar, so your countrymen cannot see it. Also be able to allow your squad members to see it.

I ask this because:

1, Realistically [ still fighting with that realistic bomb sight] if you are flying under radar, then your own radar won't see you either.

2, There have been cases where 'moles/spies' from other countries are camped out and can/have reported when obvious sneak raids are forming and heading to targets. This seems to be frequent amongst all countries.

3.  One cannot bomb one's own HQ to disable the marker tags.

Can we please have this option? Huh, can we? Please? PPPPPPLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSS SEEEEE????

If you fly under 100 feet above the ground, people won't be able to see your icon untill 3.0k out, instead of the usual 6.0k.

I am referring to the aircraft 'dots' that show up on the map.

When you see friendly dots on the map, yet no green bar indicating friendly aircraft in that sector, you know that those people are conducting an under-dar 'stealth' type raid. ( Unless there are enemy present and it could then just be PT boat vulching or so.. )

I'll go for it but no player controlled toggle.

Under dar should be under dar for friend n foe alike.

I don't have much hope it will stop the spy whines though.
Easy in-game again.

Man, you've been pushing for this change since 2002???  lol.  Talk about persistance.

I'm replying only because I want to see my post when you bump the thread again in 2005.  :D

Good luck!

Another request to piggy back on this idea...   If you are below 200 ft  or maybe 100 to make it sporty, I wish that my ICon would go away so that enemy aircraft would have a hard time finding a NOE raid.  Now as luck would have it, they see the Icons, when they wouldnt see the aircraft unless they were lucky or looking.. In Real Life, we fly low for that very reason.  On several missions I have flow, or CAP/CAS/SEAD  fighter support could not find us and they knew where to look..  I dont know,  just an idea...

really, I always see the enemy Icon no matter what their altitude is.  I am talking about the name above the aircraftnot on the dar screen..  Am I on crack and just not noticed the ICON wasnt  there?
