Alrighty fellers, Thought I'd take a minute to show you my project. This is what has been occupying so much of my time... I had to quit flying so much and CMing all together. I hope this finds you all well. Right after I cleared the lot... My wife, & the back view. Blocks & Footers... Dang that's a lot of blocks... Pumping concrete into the block.... Hurricane proofing 101. 35 trees down thanks to Katrina. My brand new 1987 32 footer! Too bad Katrina parked it in the woods... Seriously, we found it there after the storm ***More to follow***

About 500'...
But Katrina didn't get close to getting me wet. I had at leats 10' of rise before it would have threatened the house. It'll take on HUGE hurricane to put water into this!

Was your house destroyed by huricane? are you doing the job or have cotractors?! I drove last week on I-10, Mobile, NO, to Tx and i was surpised to see after 5 months soo many houses still having the roof covered with blue plastic foil, In the same day i read in "USA today'" that Exon Mobil was breaking all records in profit, made 30+bilion profit per last year, and some peoples can't aford to rebuild the roof:(

Gee, what a surprise. Surely I'm not the only person who noticed the extra 10c/Litre (canada) we're paying, when the price of a barrel of crude hasn't gone up enough to warrant it?

I came out of it smelling like a rose. But withing 2 miles of my house, there are families that lost everything. I-10? Your were within 5 minutes of my house... Blue roofs are for the lucky... sort of. They still have something worth protecting. But it is also a curse because it's easier and faster to rebuild from scratch (FEMA and the Insurance Companies are really not responsive like they have you think).. Both look good on paper, but I have heard more negatives about both, than positives. After the storm , it was weird, I felt guilty because I didn't have any damage...
