afk time
« on: December 03, 2008, 12:53:45 PM »
HTC i'm glad you put in new score check system, my next wish list is a afk time limit. Like max of 2 or 3 hrs no sorites your ejected. It really hurts in early war or mid war when u get 9 guys on your side and 8 afk. its Not even close to a reset.
Your then fighting 6 cons with huge disadvantage, and the Enemy screws up so you  get slow planes and no point for kills. please change  eny and points based on those in flight atleast? but i like ejection after 2rs no sorties...... please

Hello Rod,

I have no opinion to offer one way or the other on this issue, but you would be better served by putting this into the Wishlist forum.

probably more a problem in ew, as i rarely ever see more than ten or so in there. in mw, sometimes. a lot of us, just learn to fight with the slower, lower eny planes.

it's actually pretty fun to be honest.  :aok

hey if u don't like people afk'ing then afk yourself.it's none of your business if a person goe's afk or for how long.it is after all a free world or supposed to be.if u don't like what they do,leave the game.because putting a time limit on afk's is wrong and unamerican.DIG IT :furious

You actually get more points killing stuff in "slow" planes.  I suppose with all the "AFK'ers" running up the ENY it would offset the bonus, however.  Perhaps practice flying the "slow" planes more and you will be prepared for when everyone goes "AFK" as your hoard rolls to "victory"!!

There's no reason for a player to sit AFK for longer than an hour tops.  Besides throwing off the ENY values, at peak times, AFK players could be preventing some other players from getting on their server of choice to play with their squadies and friends.

Probably not a huge problem, but it's still silly to sit in a game and be passed out in the other room.  Boot em!

First its not free world we pay for right to play here.  If some are afk and you can't fly what you want cause others afk for hours. its not right when your stuck with da3 against bombers and tiffys cause other 2 teams have only 3 players both hitting you. just because they know you only have 1 man flying while 12 guys afk.
This is when  people do affect how others play by going afk for 12 to 24 hours. Today 1 guy was afk for 24 hrs plus  straight no sorties since monday new tod. I only asked for 2 hr to 4 hr max there is no other reason to be afk longer than that. hell all you would have to do is go afk in field gun if it upset you soo much. wrongway  hard to get kills in da3 against b17s lancs and tiffy and you have to run back and forth base to base trying to stop horde from taking a base.   just like this afternoon  14 bishops 12 nits both teams  hitting the 3 rooks on. shouldn't make it easier for them to double team the few on.

I disagree with Rod and think if someone needs to afk they shouldnt be booted for it. Some of us log into the arena long before squad time just to make sure we have a spot. As subscribers I think we have that right and shouldnt lose connect because of it AND I think any code introduced to make the decision would be CPU costly and another source of warp and lag. Dont change the game for the sake of the early arenas.

It is a free world Rod and you can change arenas easily enough.

wow  code makes warps or lag if that was case no one could play game. since it is all done with codes. like i said if it was needed you could just log in with man gun stay on all day. but probally with some of these thoughts guys wouild abuse that too.

Yes code can easily make warps. For instance if the score/ranks were sorted every hour instead of once a day it would slow things down. Same goes for roster and data-basing user login times and locations. Its a waste of server and client cycles. Im not even a programmer (except for Autocad) and I can see that.
