It's time for folks to submit patch designs for Coral Sea 2009. I know I'm late on Tunisia, but I'm starting the production process on that now. I'll get back on a more-timely basis with Coral Sea 2009. For folks interested in what past designs looked like, they are here: http://electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/patches/patchDesigns.html

I'm thinking of taking the original idea and just changing it up a bit, like the difference between the BOB patches.
I'm thinking of a japanese CV, and inverting the 3-way split so the flags are at the bottom and the CV at the top. Minor color changes, etc, but sets it apart.

Some might disagree but I would like the patch to have things that were actually in the game.
Without a doubt this game desperately needs a Japanese carrier to work in concert with these events tho.
Useless facts:
Shoho was originally laid down at the ship yard as a sub tender.
Both Shokaku and Zuikaku were from the same class as the Yamamoto.
Thought that was interesting....

Ahhh no, while the Admiral was big, he was not Aircraft Carrier sized. You mean Yamato/Musashi, and they were not the same class as the two carriers. You are thinking of the Shinano.

Ahh yes....I misread my book here.
The Shokaku and Zuikaku were from the same program as the Yamoto class battleship.
Upon farther reading both Ise and Hyūga were built on Yamoto class keels.

Folks, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on Tunisia patch production.
That means -- time to get a design for Coral Sea 2009 going.
What do you say? Anyone out there ready to post a suggested patch?

Nope, those are air plane markings not flags.

One thing to keep in mind is that we get 3" farthest point to farthest point. In making a patch design, you might want to scale it to see 3" on your screen, just to make sure it's looking how you want. For example, once you scale it like that, you can't get outlines on text, and vertical dimension of the above patch design would be perhaps 1".
With that in mind, you might want to increase vertical dimension, move the roundel down and increase its size.
I suppose we could go to 3.5", which would help some.
