I get UDP lost switching to TCP, then I the game shuts down I can't play because I keep getting booted after 5 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated...

Click Start>Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Click the little x to expand Network Adaptors>Right click on your network adaptor>Properties>
Power Managment>Uncheck Allow Computer to turn off device..also check your USB devices for a Power Managment Tab..This may help..or may not ...Won't hurt though...

 :huh

read this sticky in the Tech support forum

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,68316.0.html

"The current port range for all arenas in Aces High is 2000-6000, inclusive, for UDP and TCP.  Aces High will use a random subset of those ports for all online play"

if your behind a firewall you will need to allow aceshigh.exe  through it.

If you can connect for 5 minutes, it sounds like you have a decent internet connection, but it craps out after 5 minutes. Now the trick is going to be to find what is causing it.

If its consistent.... 5 minutes each time... it's more likely some program on your computer stealing your connection. Be sure to turn off any other program running in the back ground that might be trying to access the internet. Programs like ITunes and such that keep looking for updates and such.

Another thing you can do is to download Ping Plotter, install it and run a ping to the game servers for 5 minutes or so. It will show you if you connection is steady, or dropping packets all over the place.

I called AT&T and they said they opened the ports. I haven;t had anytime to fly since except one time and it seemed fine then. I ran the PingPlotter and it is dropping the second hop. Whether it is using a backup hop I don't know but it seems to be dropping this hop for all websites not just the game servers.

Thanks for all the replies.
