In WW2 it was frowned upon to shoot an enemy chute, because in real-life you'd be taking another man's life when he was helpless, or not able to defend himself.

It was publically frowned upon but done by all sides in the war. Nor do I believe there is any record of any pilot on any side that was court martialed or faced any other type of disciplinary action for doing so.  When the bullets start flying and people start dying, any "gentleman rules" to combat are quicky chucked out of the window.

Hell, one of our presidents willingly strafed life boats full of Japanese sailors in the Pacific.

I have a video of me ina chute killed a guy/gal/whatever on the runway he/she/heshe was ina spitty, my bro in law was visiting me that day. he was watching me n laughed his arse off n had to go home for a quick hanes change even. LOL dam wish i cud get that video posted here LOL  Excited
In real life i think the enemy would shoot me if i was ina chute n landing on the enemy runway.

A squadron mate did that once.  He bailed out of his plane after we took down the field acks and would hide by the rearm pad.  When he saw a plane spawn, he'd run out of his hiding place and run to the side of the fighter and fire his .45 at the cockpit, got a few kills and I'm sure wounded a lot more.

BTW, just to mention in case you haven't seen this or figured it out.

In FA there was a penalty applied for shooting a chute. There is no such penalty in AH. My personal feeling is that folks that shoot chutes are mean spirited but that's just my personal thought Smiley.

If I see Rapier in a chute then I will shoot him because he blows up so nicely:)
