Disco on Launch

Beginning (I think) two patches ago I've started getting discos when attempting the first launch in a session.  Everything is working fine (maps, hangar, comms, clipboad, etc.) until I attempt to launch.  When I select a runway I get a long pause (about 4-5 seconds) and then I'll get a "host connection lost" message.  It appears to happen mostly during the very first attempt to launch during the session.  I boot AH back up and it works fine and very seldom will get a disco during flight.

Sounds like their is limited resources in the computer and the system is struggling to free up resources (lots of HD activity) and it is taking too long so the game aborts.

A DXDIAG output might help to further this along.

OK, I've double checked my symptoms.  Everything is good right up until hitting the "start flight" tile.  I then get a constant HD read light and the screen freezes for about 15 seconds (longer than I had originally thought).  I then get a quick flash of the cockpit followed immediately by "Host Connection Lost".  This problem is recent (within the last month or two) and has gotten to the point that it happens on virtually every first attempted launch during each session.  I've made no significant changes to my PC although I have the normal (numerous) MS security updates over the past couple of months.  First part of DXDIAG is below (full DXDIAG emailed):
