« on: March 29, 2011, 03:13:27 PM »
Ok in the years i been play AH i have not had a single disco. and just a few days ago. i been disconnecting after about 30 to 45 mins og gameplay. now just yesterday when i tried to log on the servers were down due to them moving them. im not saying thats the main cause, but its not my internet. i checked it many times turned off all proccesses thats arent neccesary, and i only run the game. so i give in any idea's or helpful tips to fix this?

The Internet is a dynamic monster.  Sooner or later everyone gets thier day in the disco bin.

Try running a Ping Plot (www.pingplotter.com free version of utility) to 206.16.60.38, for a few minutes and see if it shows anything.

You cannot know if it is the Internet or not until you run Ping Plotter, or something just like it.  Your immediate connection to the Internet is not in question, and is a bit irrelevant actually, unless there is something wrong there.

In the second column that says packet lose, be sure you are not getting any. On the right hand side, the line graph should stay in the "green" and "yellow"

If you are getting lose, or your pings run up into the red It's a bad thing. Let it ping every second and let it run 5-10 minutes. Take a screen shot and post the picture here.

its saved to your "notebook". Open windows paint, or some other art program and "paste" it into a new picture and save it where you can find it (desktop). Then upload it to a picture host site just like posting any other picture.

That is a reasoneable connection.  Was this done just after a disco?

If so, then I need to see a DXDIAG output as there are other things which can cause a dump to the desktop.  Anti-xxxx software can, resources being starved can, custom sounds can cause it, and a few other things.

Then again, if this is not a chronic problem, your ISP (or another ISP in the chain) could have been doing some maintenance.  It is not unusual for ISP's to quietly do maintenance.  Most of the time you never know about it as browsers and other TCP protocol connections will just manifest a slight pause.

Start, run, type in dxdiag, hit enter and your away. You can save it once done, and post the top 3rd here, or send it to skuzzy.
