I'll never forget coming in for a landing....I got about 15 feet over the runway in stormy conditions...the 20 mph headwind went poof, my air speed said "whut the heck" we went plop and I couldn't stand up quickly for a week.  My FI said after the flop " wanna go around again?" I said " are you f***ing nuts?"  This makes me look like a wisker biscuit.   


I wouldnt try this if I were in a rubber ball.

You should know to cut your headwind in half and add that to your approach speed.
