The automatic downloader seems to be messed up after I installed the last patch. When I try to download a new terrain, the downloader works for a second and then freezes. Neither the cancel nor resume later buttons work and I have to close the window entirely in order to do anything.

EDIT: I tried again and the downloader wouldn't even start to download the terrain.

Are you running an anti-virus program, or some type of security program?  I just tried it from home, and the terrains seem to download just fine.

Anti-Virus software was off. Maybe a problem with my connection or with the software? headscratch

Either way, if I could download terrains via the browser, I could avoid the problem altogether. But it seems like the terrains I need can't be found on the website.

I was having problems with the map down-loader where it would freeze up even after i downloaded all the main maps...and the only arena i could join was early war...i saw this post and double checked my firewall and antispyware even though i didnt have a problem before hand and emailed support and this is the reply that helped me and may help others as well....

"There is a bug in the terrain downloader where if you cancel it or resuem it, it will hang.  Once this happens, you have to clear out the "temp" folder in the Aces High installation directory in order for the downloads to resume."

Freezing during the download or when you try to enter the arena, after the download is done?

Try running a Ping Plot to downloads.hitechcreations.com and see what it looks like.

Iassume you emptied (deleted all the files) the "temp" folder in the games installation directory?

Also note, if you are still having issues, please let me know.  HiTech would like to try out a code change that may correct this.

Clearing the temp folder worked, but pressing cancel or resume later causes it to freeze just like the first time.

It is a bug, we are aware of.

Im still having the same problem during the download after deleting the temp folder....do you think it could just be a corrupt file with the maps i downloaded from the website? Im not to sure what im doing wrong this time the first time it worked fine when clearing out the temp folder.

There also seems to be a problem with users who have fairly high latency connections to the server.

What type of Internet connection do you have?

By the way, all these files can be gotten through a browser and installed manually.

I have satellite internet connection through a wireless router... I hope that's what you mean by connection type...right now I'm going through my computer maintenance to hopefully better my computers performance and i will reinstall the maps manually again... the thing that doesn't make sense to me is why is it trying to download the map when I've installed all the main arena maps from the website and can access them in the offline practice...once again I'm stuck with only the early war and dueling arenas online. I greatly appreciate your time and effort skuzzy especially since I'm not too good with computers

Disregard this post....just did the update and everything running fine thanks again skuzzy  and airlynx for all ur help
