occasionally, if the game or program I'm running lowers automatically for any reason, there are grey shaded diagonal lines across the screen...is this anything to worry about? They go away if i close the program.  headscratch

Sounds like your video card might be starting to fail.

Maybe, or it might be bad drivers or a really old card that isn't fully compatibile with the latest drivers.

The fact that it only occcurs after the "alt-tab" sort of minimization/maximization routine means its probably bad programming somewhere. If you were to have it occur in-game or during "normal" operation, it would totaly be the hardware.

If this was the computer that the power supply failed on, that failure probably damaged the video card and you are starting to see the results.

Also just try to revert back to your last set of video card drivers. I had some lines that were showing up online last week and I was getting some error messages that indicated bad drivers on the video card. So I rolled back to last good configuration and lines have disappeared.

Yes, always a possibility and the first thing to try.

I rolled back the driver and found an update that was way after the driver which came with the disk & it seems to be fixed.  cheers
