There should be a program in your Aces High install folder called "ahfilm.exe".
A film file is not a movie, it is a recording of the data during your sortie. It uses the game engine to re-render the data that was recorded. Because of this, you cannot view a film while the game is still running; you need to quit the game to watch a film.
The benefit of the way this works is that you can jump to anothe plane, and watch the fight from your enemy's point of view, or watch the fight from a third-person view, and all sorts of other stuff.

You can also use all your views while the film is running or paused from all the different angles.

From the hatswitch on joystick?
From the keypad or sliders on the main window.

Thanks a bunch I found it looks cool with all the angles you can see from. I don't know if the feature was removed but you used to be able to click on the other planes in the list to see the flight from their view. Good tool to see how the fight progressed from the other side of things. It's also a good idea to have the .ahf files associated with the ahfilm.exe so that all you need to do is double click on the film to view it instead of going through the extra steps of opening the film viewer and then selecting the film to open. ack-ack

Yes, you can still jump from plane to plane or vehicle to vehicle and watch the fight from that perspective.

It means "Fighter Pilot Hero" which is a satirical term coined by Midway. Here is a link to the Trainer's page with AH's abbreviations and acronyms. In the menu bar on the left, you will find a link that says 'Radio Abbreviations'. http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/
