by the way, here's just how awesome airsoft can really be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFxrYkhK1gthis is a MILSIM event I attended in October in Muscatatuck, Indiana. It basically involved a "what-if" scenario about the Blackhawk Down incident in Somalia, 1993. it was generaly green versus tan, freedom fighters versus US Rangers. Rangers have to wear tri-color desert camoflauge and corresponding tan gear, while the freedom fighters had to wear OD uniforms. the Rangers were led by two veterans of Somalia, and the freedom fighters were led by a former Soviet VDV paratrooper. very authentic. this was a 72 hour event, and there was always action. best game i've ever been to. another video of the same event, from the freedom fighters side. it is an hour long, though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBCxCWf35Vo&feature=related

Sent an email to the guys at the company asking for an estimate with just the frame and engine and drive installed, made it formal as possible, i'll tell yall what they say. If it works out it will be really cool cause the turret will be able to accompany airsoft and paintball separately if I go to different events, however i'm not counting my chickens before they hatch so I won't worry about it or stress by the way, here's just how awesome airsoft can really be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFxrYkhK1gthis is a MILSIM event I attended in October in Muscatatuck, Indiana. At least the shipping was free, Does anyone know what some good gear would be? I bought a pair of glasses, I'm looking for a good hat that protects your neck and face. If anyone knows a cheapish hat that would be awesome. Thanks, Warthog

I have an electric AK-74u that I'm trying to get rid of. PM me and I'll send you the specs.
Sorry Krupinski, I didn't see your post. I'm not a big fan of a AK, but thanks for your offer!

Might consider getting a gas powered rifle, not sure yet, a bit of exercise would do me good even if all i'm using is my Dragon

If anyone knows a cheapish hat that would be awesome. Thanks, Warthog get full wrap-around eye protection. doesn't need to be an ugly paintball facemask, but most fields require some kind of full eye protection, i.e. goggles. Especially if you're going to be playing at Combat City, they say no shooting glasses allowed. don't think you wasted money, though, you could use them out at the range, or for working with tools. here's my "light" kit, the stuff i use for going out on a weekend with my buddies: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_99&products_id=3891http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_97&products_id=6353http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_173&products_id=3833http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_292&products_id=10376on my head i wear a Tampa Bay Rays baseball cap. the shemagh is used as a wrap to protect my neck, and it really does help. On my feet i have a pair of stryker boots that you can find at any surplus store, and i wear a black T-shirt with OD pants. by the way one thing to consider, i think your gun comes with a high-capacity magazine. while there is nothing wrong with using one, I personally prefer mid-caps. they still hold 75-120 rounds depending on the gun, but are spring-fed, and don't need any sort of winding up. it feeds much smoother and doesn't rattle around either. for your particular gun, there is this 5-mag box set, currently out of stock but AirsoftGI is usually good on getting things re-stocked quickly. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=60_112_276&products_id=4592you also do not want to use the little bag of bbs that come with the gun. the quality is not only poor, but so much so that it can actually damage your gun. don't buy bbs from walmart or sports authority, either. use something like these: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_44_193&products_id=3938I hope you get into the sport, it really is a blast

It just needs to create a seal around your eyes, so bbs shot from the side won't catch the inside of your glasses and ricochet into your eye. So, shooting glasses aren't allowed, just goggles. You don't need a mask, and I personally don't like masks anyways

Thanks for the links Wild, I think i might have to wait on some of the gear, like the vest, and goggles. Those Thompson mags are actually really decently priced. 110 rounds would be very helpful. Have you play seen a Thompson in action in your time of playing airsoft?

Unfortunately, they are not. However if you want, I can mail over an old pair of my goggles just for the price of shipping. I'm back in Florida now so we don't live too far away, anyways. I have seen a few Thompsons, and in the airsoft world they are fairly decent in mid-range engagements. The reason most go with the M4 is because it is the most customizable, and compatible with just about everything. Same with the AK series. The Thompson is unique though, and you will find great use for it.
