This was what I was talking about earlier. We started to work on this Just before we deployed in July. The other Marines that actually got to fly the drone, started in August, and they came out in early November to Afghanistan. They had their first cargo lift December 1st, after they were set up with the new runway pads and things like that.
From what I recall this can carry about six thousand pounds and has a pretty long range. It's original purpose was to lift wood out for the loggers. This is the KMAX unamanned helicopter. First of it's kind, and the wave of the future as far as unmanned aviation is concerned. Just an added perk, it can be manned as well.
