FRAME 3 GV BATTLE RULES AND OBJECTIVES

TO SEIZE AND HOLD: Prokhorovka

This is a Free for all, King of the Hill type Combined Operation event involving GVs and Aircraft. Participation is NOT required and will NOTbe factored into the Final FSO Score although I’m sure there will be some bragging rights involved. The Frame CICs: {The Gunfighters} and 35th FG Night Stalkers are NOT allowed to assign any squads to GVs. Players may up as many times as they want in any available GV.

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE?

The goal of the GV Battle is to capture and hold A18 until the end of the frame at T+120. The object downtime is maxed out so when an object is destroyed it is down for the entirety of the frame, Field re-supply will also be disabled. The objective will be held by the CM Country until it is captured by either Allies or Axis. No GVs will be enabled at A18. The town will have to be 100% down and the number of troops required will be main arena standard. Aircraft will be able to engage vehicles and the base and town at A18 but not until T+60.

AIRCRAFT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTACK A18 UNTIL T+60.

WHEN WILL IT START?

The GV portion of the event will start at T+60 and end at T+120.

ACTIVE VEHICLE BASES

THESE VEHICLE BASES ARE OFF-LIMITS TO AIRCRAFT ATTACK.

The Allies will be operating from:

V26 – NORTH SPAWN POINT ONLY

V45 – SOUTHWEST SPAWN POINT ONLY

The Axis will be operating from:

V28 – EAST SPAWN POINT ONLY

V47 – NORTHEAST SPAWN POINT ONLY

T+80 – Tiger I, Panther G, T-34/85 - Disabled.
T+100 – Panzer IVH, M4A3(75) – Disabled.

Good luck!

Rather than rearm and fly to an enemy base, a squad may land to go play in the dirt.

I guess that's one of their many options. I don't think that would be much more than an issue as say a squad landing and leaving the arena because they've been shot up or have taken a beating.

The way I look at it is this:

If a squad lands perfectly good planes just to play in GV's, instead of continuing their primary FSO commitment, then they cannot be relied upon and in my opinion should re-think why they fly FSO. At the very least, in my eyes they have lost trust and respect.

This GV battle is optional and just for fun for the guys who have been shot down and are not otherwise able to further contribute to the overall FSO objectives.

I don't have any problem with it Thumbs UP!.  Gives a place for a late frame air fight to start over, if nothing else.  Rather then trying to find a fight and still have time to land your planes before the end of frame, so you don't lose points for your side.  This gives us a known place for enemy activity.

This and it seems people lose focus instead of staying in the tower and giving out intel or joining a bomber as a gunner they are in gvs.  To me fso's with gvs are not as intense and focused.

There is enough gv battles with unlimited lives in the Main.

GV battles are fun to have in FSO and scenarios, especially when entire squads are shot down what else is there to do besides nothing? Ground vehicles!

Not sure why anyone is against Ground vehicles, it adds an element to the game we lack in FSO and scenarios. Don't be so worried about what others do, enjoy the game for yourself Smiley

I don't think anyone is against GVs, unless it affects the air battles. This was certainly the case in the frames I flew in the last scenario. And I think that is the reason the turnout was so poor. I would hate for them to have the same effect on FSOs.

If GVs are that important, why not run events that focus mainly on GVs, but with air assets when plausible?

This is a completely volunteer GV battle, your participation is not required. If you do not want fly your aircraft to it you do not have to. It is a complete free for all for pilots who are down and done for the evening and players who are still up and looking for a fight.
