Hello everyone,

Although I have not got to play much myself here lately due to personal issues, my squadron and I (365th Hellhawks) were invited to the actual 365th FBG (the real guys) reunion this past week in Pigeon Forge, TN. Not only did we get to meet and learn from several veterans of the actual 365th FBG, see actual P47s take to the skies, and overall increase our appreciation of their service and sacrifice, we also got a real treat. Ralph Kling, a decorated WWII veteran, sat down with myself, HGDan, Heeler, RAK and JoeCrow and made a flawless (Stick, throttle and rudder pedals, not an auto) take off and flight in the skies of the Main arena. For those of you who were on, this was right before the map reset yesterday afternoon. I caught it, as well as the takeoff and landing of the real p47s, on my phone. The video of the real 47s is not all that great, as my phone is a piece of...well, you know. But it did a fine job capturing this video.

Also, here is Mr. Kling's story, in his own words (I did not do this interview)

For all of the rest of ya'll, I do apologize for my absence from Aces High, and look forward to flying with you again soon.

Note: There is an AH film of Mr. Kling's flight, however, it is on RAK's machine and I will upload it when he gets home and emails it to me.

:airplane: Great thread Cap, been missing you in my missions...hurry back...still waiting on phone call so you and I and climber can have lunch at "Mickies". Would love to have been with you talking to Mr. King. When players in Aces High see and hear from the old heads, it certainly adds to the respect we all have for those brave young men in the skies over Europe during 1942 to 1945.
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

Absolutely fantastic.

I would like to suggest that we have a voluntary fund that would pay the subscription of any WW2 veteran that would like to join us in this game we all love.

I volunteer $5 per month ad infinitum if Hitech could see his way to make this happen.  Anyone else with me?  Dale, please ?

This is fantastic.

Before seeing this, I'd lost all hope of having authentic ww2 pilots flying the skies of aces high.  I used to be in a squad with a fella who claims 14 aerial victories in a Wildcat along with a bunch of medals.  Unfortunately nobody can find any record of this guy or his achievements.

Over.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

a fighter from AH would smoke a ww2 fighter. :aok

(if they never flew in AH)

we have two things they didn't.......unlimited lives.....1000-10,000 of hours simulating combat.....

Reverse it to real planes and real machine guns and the vet wins.
