Spawn points
« on: October 24, 2012, 11:14:35 AM »
Just curious, could spawn points be moved on existing maps,or even moved around? Might add alittle to the game for us gv`rs,and we all know some spawns are just to far away.Anyways just a thought.

Skuzzy takes care of the boards, not the maps.

Any points like spawn points, towns, factorys and such are hard wired into the map. To change them means you have to have the original files and basically rebuild the map. If your going through the trouble to do that you might as well just build a new map.

Thanks Fugitive. I always wondered about that. I have never created a terrain.
Sounds like once a terrain is released it is very difficult to modify.

Wait didn't there use to be things on the map that aren't there anymore? Like there are spawn points to no where that had factory's there at one time didn't it? So why would it be hard to add something to the map if you can take it away?

Our entire start system was changed, while still using the same maps as well.

It can be modified and renamed. It is time consuming.

Why???  Better GV battles if the 2 spawns face each other off to one side of the field, with all 3 being about 3K apart, and out of direct LOS of each other.

Was just thinking some bases that don`t currently have spawns to them could be added. Some times there`s no place to use a tank. Just sayin

Yes, closer spawns and closer bases = more combat! Maybe will see this on future maps.

It needs more spawns or booted permanently out of the map rotation. Of all the maps I hate it the worst. When it's up I don't even play.
