Need a good computer

Willing to pay up to 800 for a system would it be better to get a desktop yet or stick to a laptop

Desktop, definitely. Read the Hardware and Software section for ideas why and what.

I've been building desktops as a hobby for 7 years. Got 4 set up now in my office. PM me if you wanna know more.
