In the 70's at my High School when it came out he was writing his love songs over boys. You only heard girls playing them after that in the community or on the radio. Now days if you go back and look at his lyrics, it's obvious who he was pining away for.

We just had a concert by Elton John in March.  Covelli Center. Fantastic performer.
