Agree:

Effecting the enemies ability to make war has always been a valid tactic. It's no different than porking ords, taking out HQ, ect.

Not what I said and not what I meant:

Oh and it's only wrong if the other side does it.  :noid

Bish do it as well.  On a large map hiding a CV means, more often than not, that the CV is out of the game.  I think that the game would be more interesting if it was harder to hide a CV,  Again my thoughts are here:

I am sure others will have other ideas.

Again..
Why is it so hard to take control of it yourself and move it?

If anyone gets mad, tell them to piss off. Simple.
It's a game of fighting. For some reason, people like to think by having as little of a fight as they can in AH that seems to be the new "fun" tactic. I just can't fathom it anymore.  :headscratch:

Winning the war is pointless in the MA if you are not logged on. Hiding CVs is stupid as hell.  :old:

Maybe the CVs that are portless should have a 12 hour rule. After 12 hours you either recapture that port or CV respawns at it. Maybe still in your control also allowing a better chance at capture.

I can think of a couple reasons off the top of my head.

#1 it's 10+ sectors back which makes it many hours away from being in play.

#2 you don't have the rank, and one of the brilliant strategic generals of your country wont let you.

personally, I don't care, I despise cv's and their magic 3000 ft puffy ack.

Players capture enemy cv's and steam them back deep into friendly territory,  taking them out of play....... hiding them.

As a count toward the full base count they don't use them, so they can't lose them and so "save" those bases toward the count for the win.

I wonder if removing CV's from the base capture count (instead only counting the base/port) would help this some.

Perhaps a wishlist item?

For those of us playing this game for well over a decade, Aces High is more of a social club. The game just provides the framework. I keep logging in for the people and Pipz was the kind that you keep coming to meet again.

Certainly not. They aren't really hidden for base count, but to deny them to the enemy at all cost.
That's not generally a bad thought, the problem is just that TAGMA is just of such an unfortunate design that this can be taken to the extreme by parking the CV somewhere in a giant area behind the main continents.

I find them every time.......without resorting to spying or side switching.

It's not hard since all 3 countries do the same thing over and over with very little variation.

You can capture a CV without capturing the port?

No you must capture the port first. I thought that was common knowledge.

That I understand.

So a bunch of knits come in and capture a bish port.  Does the CV that is already in play remain a bish CV even though the knits captured the port and remain bish until sunk?  I assume then  that blocks a new knit CV from spawning since a bish CV is still in play from their captured base?
