I do.  Not sure if it has saved me from attacks, but I like it enough to have bought it.

Unfortunately you most likely can't avoid viruses anymore with XP. It doesn't get patches and the exploits simply bypass the antiviruses.

Although I admit that Malwarebytes' is a great program, I wouldn't rely on it solely. If I had to choose one single program to protect my computer, I wouldn't choose it. The reason is simple: Malwarebytes' is not an antivirus program! If you don't believe me, believe them: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/8068-is-antimalwarebytes-an-anti-virus-program/.

Then again, if you were running Windows 8 you might consider the built-in Defender as the main antivirus... After all, the Defender in Win8 is the same product as Microsoft Security Essential which claimed to be an antivirus program.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

I myself actually use Microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes, making sure to keep both updated . when just playing this game i turn it off.  i always  have it on  for web browsing etc. it amazes me how many web pages these days have those sneaky little bugs such as .Trojan.Clicker.W7,or the malicious websites add-ons which is what probably happened to Flench . I myself dont believe Microsoft security essentials is a totally safe virus protector but it is free and both will work together with seminally no conflict.
It is my belief that a persons web browsing habits are what gets them into the most trouble . the above clicker virus was detected on my computer after letting someone use my system while i was away.
