Amazing alt planes from the blue

Can someone please explain to me how this happens?   B-17's 20k, no one around for miles, no dar nothing! level flight getting ready to start calibrating for bomb drop, then all of a sudden just as I reach the enemy dar circle a dar pops up ( Thinking no biggy, I'm 20k and there just taking off right) Wrong, 4 cons show up and by some form of magic ones already at 17k and one is 25k over my head already.... so how can they just pop up from nowhere and one already be at 25k and the other 17k when the dar just popped up that there were cons around......( And NO OUR HQ WASN'T DOWN EITHER ) Oh yeah and there was a spy telling the rooks what was going on ( and by now we all know who likes to spy on other countries.
 Ok, fire away!
P.S. I filmed it and saved it, and watched it and it all just seemed to be magical alt aircraft from out of the blue.

A spy wouldn't disable Dar or be able to magically levitate the enemy cons above their normals maximum climb rate. I would suggest they are merely high alt cons inbound from another adjacent grid square

Often there is no darbar at all, neither in that nor in any adjacent sectors.

Two weeks ago I ran into what I'd thought to be a Bish NOE strat raider:



As you can see, no darbar anywhere (and yes, our HQ was up, I checked for it)


But then, a few minutes later it turned out to be...

Ok so its some bug in the game, I figured as such I just wasn't sure, thanks Lusche I appreciate it. It just seemed weird that's all. Thanks everyone.

Its a bug.....The dar has been broken for a long time now lol....I Usually fly to a base where theres only a friendly dar bar...then when i reach to the base tons of cons shows up outa nowhere and dar bar jumps way up...

Is it a bug on all maps? Some seem to be worse.

Also, does flying off the map and then back on make a dar bar disappear? Or is this an urban legend?
