ENY FROM TOWER SITTERS
« on: May 20, 2015, 10:16:52 AM »
This ENY from tower sitters is getting out of hand.  PLEASE HTC do something about logging off inactive players sitting in the tower more than 30 minutes.  THE ENY is killing us daily.

Today 38 on 17 in flight.. most of the morning for bish.  29 eny

This IS getting bad, the other day I saw 7 players sitting in the tower for several hours, I would guess waiting for the war to be won :bhead

After 20 to 30 minutes of inactivity the player should automatically be booted.

That's so easy to avoid...

Make that down to 5 minutes max afk in the tower, automatically spawn in the hangar or discoed from game session until relog, they'll think twice :D

Remove inactive players from the calculation completely.
Only active players will then determine ENY.

then they will adjust ENY by having people wait in the tower until it is favorable and then launch.

I don't know what the fix is, but while the numbers are low something has got to be done.

last time I checked ENY didn't kill anyone.

Plenty of 30+ rides that can get the job done if you choose to be on the side with a vast number advantage.

What has been annoying off hours recently is the guy who has 3 accounts, one for each team, then starts talking to himself on 200.   How can you plan a base take with someone listening and plotting your every move aswell as mouseover ID's and dot commands that give you exact intel!  It is barmy!

Which is what's largely already happening. Very often there's not ENY because of the tower sitters, but players start to sit in the tower because of ENY kicking in.

How does that work, exactly?  Nothing happens simultaneously on a computer.  Everybody would get launched in an order.  So the first guy gets his ENY bonus, then the next guy launches with the ENY recalculated counting the guy in front of him, then the third guy with the ENY recalculated including the two guys in front of him, and so on.  Where would the advantage be?

I'm not worried about people sitting in the tower. I've done it sometimes myself, preferring to chat with someone instead of getting killed while typing.

But then again I've read that some people won't log out at all. Instead of sitting in the tower they're sitting at their office or school desks. I suppose an hour or so of total inactivity both in flight and on the radio would indicate an afk for the day player, justifying a kick.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

I sometimes sit in the tower, waiting for the enemy to mass an attack.  One player (that one player being me) can't really make much of a difference attacking a base alone, especially without follow up from other friendlies.  And fighting against buildings and ack is a bore.

One player can make a difference on defense.  It's a great feeling to stop a much larger force from taking your base.  :ahand

I the evening, CET I can understand fighter pilots waiting for a radar-bar to show up so they have something to fight.

Yesterday I flew only one mission looking for trouble, only got enemy auto-ack to shoot at me in a Bf109g6 with gondolas.

This map is huge with a gazillion of fields with large front to enemy only about 100 online, best guess half of them are doing GV work.

After talking to some guys I simply logged (but could have stayed online waiting for some action).

Talked with Pipz who have flown around for 20 minutes also trying to find someone to shoot up.

These big maps has to go out of rotation until we get more players.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.
