Halls of the Improbable
« on: June 29, 2015, 11:03:11 AM »
We get these planes to do some crazy things.  I think it would be fun to know some of the extreme things you have done in these planes and scenarios.  I'll seed this with mine:

  • Successfully landed a plane on a battleship after our CV went down and was outta fuel.
  • Successfully landed a plane on an enemy CV.  Did an end-flight before my plane was killed by ACK.
  • Successfully downed bombers in a Ju-87 g-2.  Silly fun bomber hunting plane for me on occasion.

How about you?

Managed to get someone to fight, even though there was a slim chance they could lose.

I did not think it was possible.  That never stops me from trying things.  I flew it just above a stall, just before I got to the edge of the deck stopped the engine and pulled back on the stick.

For me that was crazy improbable!

Maybe others can do it routinely.  :salute

I think he meant you didn't get a "You have landed successfully" message, meaning you in fact ditched according to the game.

Yeah if you land on the cruiser you only get a ditch, unfortunately.

My favorite recently was landing on a CV with no elevators. That was fun lol.

1-Was flying a Stuka and got caught by two ponies.  Dove into a canyon, they followed.  Left the canyon dripping sweat and two scalps to land. Fun!

2-Drove my Wirbelwind inside of a tracked enemy LVT while pursued by enemy tanks.  I racked up multiple kills as they shot at me repeatedly but hit the LVT.  Fun!

Recently i discovered you can snap roll a B-29 while flying a set with 50% fuel and 40-500lb bombs without snapping the wings, stalling, or loosing any drones.

I dunno does that count? :x

Out ran a me163 in a TBM, in that same sortie got in a dogfight with a hurri and a p51 and got them both. Got jumped by a pair of tempests in my 202, get 'em both. Unintentionally killed a p38 in flight from long range with a shore battery. Used to practice shooting bombers in a flakyak from beyond the range of their tail guns, 1.5k ish yards. Parachuted on to a colossal pepperoni pizza in the shade of a giant shiner bock beer. Killed a giant squid.

Oh and took off from a cv in a me163 in the main arena.
