vehicle wont shift gears

My gvs wont shift to higher gears when i press shift+w automatically unless I go to desktop and comeback.
This persists when ever i stop the vehicle either by `e` engine off or just stop moving while engine is still on by `w`.

Mine does that if I do not have my rudder pedals calibrated.

If the tank is doing ANY kind of a turn you won't be able to shift. Sloppy rudders give the tank a bit of a turn and so no shifting. If your rudder is on your stick and your twisting it a bit while driving, it won't shift.

I have had same and yep, its rudder pedal issues

I dont have rudder pedals so I know thats not the problem. 

I have a new Alienware computer and an Alienware TactX keyboard.  It seems to conflict with my SaiTek X45 stick (yes, it still works...knock wood).  I have to unplug the x45 USB and plug it back in... then my vehicle will change gears.  if I stop, it goes back to not working.

I will try calibrating the stick again but I think i did that and no change

add a bit of dead band, that should help

  Be sure to add the deadpan to the "yaw" axis,the yaw can give inputs that will keep a GV in a single gear as it wont accelerate to change gears since the GV wants to try to turn.
