Strange Crash
« on: July 14, 2016, 03:32:31 AM »
Just recently had to install a new version of Parallels Desktop, the application I use to run Windows on my Mac. Now when I go online (doesn't happen offline) then the secondary tab on the clipboard - the one used for the E6B computer or Roster etc is spinning round and round. Within a few minutes I just get a starey sky with the clipboard and comms still visible. You can still view comments as other players type them. Alernatively the game comletely freezes graphically showing me still in flight but then nothing works at all until I reset Windows.

Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I know exactly what the problem is. Here's what you do . . .

Oh, wait, arrogance, yeah maybe I should let someone else help you.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

So I was right that you're a spiteful child in an adult's body desperate for the currency of recognition and adoration then? I feel a bit sorry for you tbh. You're a tragedy.

Sure they'll be someone more mature and knowledgeable along shortly. Much to your chagrin I'm sure.  :rofl

I moved this to Technical Support as this is not a bug related to Aces High.

What you are describing used to happen many years ago when video cards used to not support hardware T&L.

Here is a blurb I found about enabling DirectX support in Parallels. http://kb.parallels.com/en/122485

Was not sure if it would help, or not.  Glad you got it sorted out.

Just curious, how is it running?

Well strangely, it seems to be running faster. I saw a framerate of 65 at one moment today. I went from Parallels 10.0 to 11.0. Same windows partition from the old version. Windows XP. Don't laugh, it was 'free'.

My computer's in heaps of trouble though. I think it's now over 6 years old. There's a dry joint on the GPU so everything that should be white is a vibrant pink and total black shows up green. I might reflow / reball the motherboard but there's a chance I'll kill it and I have to do a lot of graphics programming for my project. Never a dull moment!
