Off Line Areana Settings AHIII and AHII
« on: August 18, 2016, 02:31:40 PM »
Is it possible to display GV distance/icons to long range for practice?  Also, is there anything in writing to show what the settings are and how to use them? Trying to set up GV gunnery practice.

You can set the ICON ranges to whatever you like.  The default for friendly and enemy ICON ranges is 6,000 yards (clipboard will show 18,000 feet as that is the unit we work with).

In the "Arena Settings", click on the "Range" tab to see all the various ranges used in the arena.  The names of the various variables should give you a clue as to what they are used for.

If not, please ask.

No, there is no complete documentation describing all the arena variables.

Worked well for Aircraft and also gave me an idea on how to change things for off line training.  Is there any setting that can be used to display enemy GV icon/ranges visible to other country GV's?  I would like to set up "Known Range Targets" for a GV to shoot other GV's as well as other targets such as buildings and guns from longer distances to practice gunnery.

Try looking at the range settings that start with "VehicleSeen". One of them will be set to zero, which is the range at which a vehicle will be seen by another vehicle.

All "vehicle seen" settings have been changed to 18000.  From tower, all vehicles are observed with icons.  In an aircraft, in the hanger, all vehicles in view can been seen with their icons.  In an aircraft airborn, all vehicles can be seen with their icons.  In a GV, out of the hanger, no icons on other vehicles can be seen.  Vehicles can be observed, but no icons displayed. All this is in off line mode.  It is possible to set up a gunnery range off line using vehicles against vehicles?

Turn kill shooter off and just use friendly tanks.

I've created a single country offline only gunnery terrain with two tank ranges, 4000yd and 4mile with static tank objects set out on them. The ranges also have an 88 and 17lb. You will also be able to spawn a wirbel withing 500yds of flying drones. And things like CV gunnery training, shore batterys against task force, 88 and 37mm training against drones, PT torpedo training against ships, bombing, a drive through town and tank town to learn how to see tanks. I use air spawns so you don't waste time. View distances for everything is set to max. Protect objects is off so you can shoot up everything and not need other countries.

Hitech has set static object tanks so AP ammo will show a hit response but only HE will destroy them. The hit response is enough to learn your sights.

When AH3 goes live I will make this available.

I appreciate the info.  I'm looking forward to seeing the "Gunnery" range and using it.  I shall do my best to wait with patience. :)
