They were doing a parody of the Fox News ticker.

Some other headlines included:

JFK posthumously joins Republican Party
Oil slicks found to keep seals young, supple
Do Democrats Cause Cancer?

Fox threatened to sue itself over this episode!

Yes, this was just an excuse to say :92% of Democrats are gay.
